Job Summary
Provide cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings with weekday hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by night call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM and 24-hour call on weekends. Inpatient duties include morning rounding on 5 to 8 patients, updating care plans, writing orders, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and managing post-operative tasks such as chest tube and pacing wire removal, wound care, and discharge planning. Operating room responsibilities involve serving as first assist in cardiothoracic procedures and performing vein harvesting using the Maquet system, while outpatient work includes managing approximately 10 consults daily. All clinical documentation is maintained through the EPIC EMR system.
