Job Summary
Admit patients, perform daily rounds, write orders and progress notes, and discharge patients. Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and families, prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, and order or interpret diagnostic imaging and labs. First assist surgeons in operating rooms daily for scheduled and add-on cases, manage case card selection and supply needs, and coordinate with circulating RNs and surgical techs to optimize surgical flow. Join a team of four cardiothoracic physicians and eight advanced practice providers at Munson Medical Center's only level II trauma tertiary center in Traverse City, performing over 600 heart cases annually. Full-time Monday through Friday schedule with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing OR a Masters in Physician Assistant studies
- State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license
- vaccination or lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
- flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
