Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner (NP) for cardiothoracic surgery locum tenens coverage in an on-site California facility. Responsibilities include assisting with cardiothoracic surgery cases (approximately 10-11 heart surgeries per month and additional thoracic cases), daily morning rounds, and writing postoperative notes (often shared with attending surgeons). The census is fewer than 10 inpatients at a time; follow-up clinics occur Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with up to six patients per session, and weekend call coverage is required. The position requires Board Certification and provides inpatient, day-shift coverage with call responsibilities in a Level II Trauma Center setting.
