Job Summary
Board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City, SD. Role spans cardiac and thoracic surgery with some vascular care. Key duties include performing complex CABG (including beating heart techniques), mitral valve repairs/replacements, aortic valve procedures (AVR/TAVR), complex thoracic aortic surgery (including aortic root), arrhythmia surgery (hybrid A-fib maze/convergent), ECMO, open and VATS lobectomy, mediastinal surgery, carotid/endarectomy, and EVAR/open AAA repairs. The clinic hosts a robust EP and structural heart program with multiple robotic systems and a large clinical research portfolio. Collaborative team environment with shared call among CT Surgical partners; strong commitment to quality improvement and participation in national registries. Required Qualifications
- Board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon
- experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery
- familiar with CABG, valve repairs/replacements, ascending aortic surgery, mitral valve procedures, arrhythmia surgery including convergent AF maze, EVARs and AAA repairs
- vascular surgery exposure
- participation in clinical registries/quality programs
- ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- participation in EP/structural heart programs
- availability for call rotation
- robotic surgery experience (da Vinci preferred)
- adequate licensure and malpractice insurance
