Cardiothoracic Surgery

Board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City, SD to provide a mix of cardiac and thoracic care with vascular involvement. The role emphasizes expertise in CABG (beating heart), complex mitral valve repairs/replacements, AVRs & TAVRs, complex thoracic aortic surgery (including aortic root surgery), arrhythmia surgery including hybrid A-fib maze procedures (convergent), ECMO, and open and VATS lobectomy/mediastinal procedures; involvement in carotid endarterectomy, EVARs and open AAA repairs; participation in EP and structural heart programs, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across inpatient and outpatient settings. The program highlights a large case volume, presence of a robotic surgery capability (da Vinci), and active clinical research with ongoing trials; call is shared among CTSA partners.
