Job Summary
Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City, SD. The role combines cardiac and thoracic surgery with vascular care, requiring a board-certified surgeon with extensive experience who can perform a broad spectrum of procedures including CABG (beating heart), mitral valve repair/replacements, AVRs & TAVRs, complex thoracic aortic surgeries (including aortic root), arrhythmia procedures (hybrid A-fib maze, convergent), ECMO, VATS lobectomy, mediastinal surgery, and carotid/endarterectomy, among others. The program features a large multidisciplinary team, substantial annual volumes, and a comprehensive EP and structural heart program; call is shared among cardiothoracic surgeon partners. The institute emphasizes quality improvement and active clinical trials, with strong relocation support and a full benefits package. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent clinical skills and a commitment to high-quality cardiovascular care.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon
- multiple years of experience
- experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery
- involvement in or oversight of complex procedures (CABG, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgery, arrhythmia surgery)
- familiarity with hybrid and advanced cardiovascular interventions
- participation in registries or EP programs is a plus
