Job Summary
Board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City, SD. The role combines cardiac and thoracic surgery with vascular care, performing procedures such as CABG (beat‐ing heart), mitral valve repairs/replacements, AVRs & TAVRs, complex thoracic aortic surgery including aortic root surgery, arrhythmia surgery including hybrid A-fib maze (convergent), ECMO, open and VATS lobectomy, mediastinal surgery, carotid endarterectomy, EVARs and open AAA repairs. The program features a large cardiovascular team, extensive case volumes, robotic capabilities (da Vinci), and an active clinical research program. Call is shared among Cardiothoracic Surgeon partners. The practice emphasizes collaboration, quality improvement, and a full spectrum of cardiovascular care, with relocation support and a comprehensive benefits package. Located in the Black Hills region, the area offers a family-friendly community and access to outdoor recreation.
Required Qualifications
- board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon with multiple years of experience
- board-certified physicians
- robust cardiovascular program
- experience in CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, convergent ablation, EP procedures, and structural heart interventions
- participation in clinical research and quality registries
- ability to work in inpatient and outpatient settings
- call coverage shared among surgeon partners
