Job Summary
Join Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Rapid City, SD. The role combines cardiac and thoracic surgery with some vascular care, requiring a board-certified surgeon with extensive experience. Responsibilities include performing complex procedures such as CABG (beating heart), mitral valve repairs/replacements, AVR/TAVR, complex thoracic aortic surgery (including aortic root), arrhythmia surgery (hybrid A-fib maze procedures), ECMO, open and VATS lobectomy, mediastinal surgery, carotid endarterectomy, and lower/upper extremity bypass. The program supports robust EP and structural heart offerings (transcatheter aortic valve replacement, LAAO, PFO/ASD closure, MitraClip, TMVIs) and a busy Cath/EP lab environment with substantial clinical research participation. The role involves inpatient and outpatient management, call shared among CT surgeon partners, and ongoing involvement in quality improvement and clinical trials. Required Qualifications
- Board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon
- Multiple years of experience in cardiovascular care
- MD or equivalent medical degree
- Medical licensure to practice in relevant state

- Ability to perform diverse thoracic and cardiovascular procedures
- Collaborative team player with strong work ethic and high clinical standards
