Job Summary
Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join a high-volume cardiovascular program in Des Moines, IA. The role emphasizes beating heart surgery and robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve procedures, ECMO/VAD, TAVR and TEVAR, with access to Da Vinci Xi/Si, 3 CV OR rooms and one hybrid suite. The team provides 24/7 CSICU intensivist support, extensive surgical case volume (>1000/year), and opportunities to support LVAD. Key duties include APP-assisted inpatient rounding and clinic support, with Day One benefits, paid malpractice and tail coverage, and a comprehensive benefits package including a recruitment incentive and CME funds. Leadership and academic opportunities are described through General Surgery Residency Faculty involvement, and the practice is supported within MercyOne Iowa Heart Center and Trinity Health networks. Required Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon
- Beating heart surgery experience
- Robotic heart surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi/Si)
- Minimally invasive valve surgery
- ECMO/VAD/TAVR/TEVAR familiarity
- Experience with high-volume cardiovascular center
- Inpatient rounding and clinic support
- EMR EPIC experience
- Surgery residency and faculty involvement
