Job Summary
Cardiothoracic Surgeon sought to join a high-volume cardiovascular team in Des Moines, IA. The role supports a growing practice with 4 existing surgeons and aims to add a 5th, including APP-led inpatient rounds with clinic support, 24/7 CSICU intensivist coverage, and surgical case volumes exceeding 1,000 per year. Innovative focus includes LVAD support, beating-heart and robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve procedures, ECMO, VAD, TAVR, and TEVAR. Facilities include a dedicated block time, three CV OR rooms plus one hybrid OR and a Da Vinci Xi/Si robotic system, with EMR EPIC. The role also involves General Surgery Residency Faculty responsibilities. Competitive compensation ($905,260) with recruitment incentive and CME support, day-one benefits, malpractice coverage, and a 403b plan. Required Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- MD degree or equivalent medical degree
- desire to join a high-volume cardiovascular program
- experience in LVAD, ECMO, TAVR/TEVAR and robotic surgery preferred
- EMR EPIC proficiency or experience with similar systems
- ability to participate in inpatient rounds and clinic support
- familiarity with hybrid OR environments
