Job Summary
Cardiothoracic Surgeon needed to join a high-volume cardiovascular center in Des Moines, IA. Be part of a growing team with 4 current surgeons and the goal of expanding to 5, supporting LVAD, beating-heart and robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, ECMO, VAD, TAVR and TEVAR. Block time includes 3 CV OR rooms, 1 hybrid, and Da Vinci Xi/Si; EMR is EPIC. Appointment includes APP 1st call, inpatient rounding and clinic support, and 24/7 CSICU intensivist coverage. Salary of $905,260 with recruitment incentive of $150,000, CME $6,000, 5 weeks ATO, paid malpractice and tail coverage, Day One benefits, and 403(b) match. MercyOne Iowa Heart Center is a large cardiovascular practice with multiple locations and a strong region-wide reputation; J1 and H1B visas welcome. Required Qualifications
- Board eligible or Board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Des Moines, IA or Iowa licensure or eligibility
- experience in high-volume cardiovascular surgery
- familiarity with LVAD, TAVR, TEVAR, ECMO, and robotic techniques
- experience with EPIC EMR system
- appointment to participate in general surgery residency faculty
- availability for day-one benefits and malpractice tail coverage
