Job Summary
Provide 24-hour on-call inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage at a regional hospital in Washington, managing an adult patient population with a daily caseload of 5-10 patients (0-3 admits, 2-7 ICU, 1-2 surgeries per day). Required procedures include general cardiac surgery (open and endoscopic), coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repair and replacement, plus IABP, PA catheter placement, and balloon pump management. Preferred procedures include ventilation management, evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues, and central line insertion. Board certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification required in cardiothoracic surgery
- MD degree or equivalent
- Licensed to practice cardiothoracic surgery in Washington state
