Job Summary
Provide specialised intensive care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, monitoring invasive haemodynamic parameters and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Manage chest drains, temporary pacemakers, and arterial lines while administering cardiac medications and inotropes. Care for ventilated cardiac patients and detect post-operative complications, working closely with surgeons and consultants to assist in rapid recovery planning. Maintain accurate ICU documentation and possess ACLS certification with experience in invasive lines and haemodynamic monitoring. This role offers exposure to advanced cardiothoracic procedures in a leading private hospital in Dublin, Ireland, with opportunities for specialist training and career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse qualification
- NMBI registration or eligibility
- Minimum 2+ years ICU/Critical Care experience
- ACLS certification
- ECG interpretation skills
- Knowledge of cardiac emergencies and advanced critical care procedures
- Strong decision-making and prioritisation abilities
Desired Qualifications
- BSc Nursing preferred
- Cardiothoracic ICU or Cardiac ICU experience highly preferred
- Experience with Cardiac monitoring, Ventilator management, Post-cardiac surgery care
- Invasive lines and haemodynamic monitoring
