Job Summary
Conduct high-complexity cardiology care at a VA Medical Center serving central Indiana, with an opportunity to expand the imaging program by interpreting transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, including intraprocedural TEE for structural heart interventions. Work Monday-Friday with light call access to onsite clinical pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, and advanced cardiac centers featuring Cath, Electrophysiology, and Cardiac Surgery labs. Join a fellowship program with teaching service and an academic appointment track. This role supports Veteran Health Indiana's mission to provide world-class healthcare to Veterans in downtown Indianapolis, offering a competitive salary, bonus, and federal pension.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of ACGME accredited Cardiology fellowship
- BE/BC American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Cardiovascular Disease
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia
- United States Citizenship
- Selective Service Registration (for males born after 12/31/1959)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to interpret transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE)
- Ability to perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Intraprocedural TEE for structural heart interventions
