Job Summary
Telehealth Cardiology Nurse Practitioner conducts remote patient assessments, diagnoses, prescribes medications, orders diagnostic tests, and manages chronic cardiovascular conditions across hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease. Collaborates with cardiologists, PCPs, and other healthcare professionals; stays current with cardiology evidence-based practices; maintains thorough patient records; educates patients and families on cardiovascular diseases, prevention, and lifestyle changes; and pursues ongoing professional development. Requires an MSN with cardiology specialization, active NP license in RI or CT, cardiology certification, 3+ years outpatient cardiology experience, ACLS (often recommended), proficiency in cardiac assessments and tests (ECGs, echocardiograms), and strong EHR fluency in a remote-first environment. Remote-first culture emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and collaboration; schedule is Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm EST.
Required Qualifications
- MSN with specialization in cardiology or related field
- Active, current, unrestricted NP license in Rhode Island, Connecticut, or both states
- NP certification specific to cardiology (e.g., ANCC or AANPCB)
- 3+ years of experience as a nurse practitioner in an outpatient cardiology setting
- ACLS certification (often required or highly recommended)
- Proficiency in comprehensive cardiac assessments and interpretation of diagnostic tests (ECG, echocardiograms)
- Ability to formulate treatment plans for cardiovascular conditions in outpatient environments
- Strong communication skills for patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Meticulous documentation and patient safety focus
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare technologies in cardiology
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of certifications
- Must be able to work remotely in a remote-first healthcare model
