Cardiology Diagnostic Technician I

Job Summary
Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms (12-lead EKGs) and Holter monitor exams for both inpatient and outpatient settings; processes and transmits EKG and Holter data to designated software; ensures exams are available for physician interpretation and completes associated paperwork and reconciliation; collaborates with all members of the patient care team; emphasizes patient advocacy and safety while maintaining quality of care; requires completion of the HM EKG course within 6 months and BLS certification; supports a non-exempt, entry-level technician role with responsibilities spanning service, quality, and growth within a hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalent education (examples include: GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, partial or full completion of post-secondary education, etc.)
- EXPERIENCE Six months of basic EKG and/or Holter monitor experience highly preferred
- LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required EKG HM - Houston Methodist Electrocardiogram Course (HM) - Houston Methodist within 6 months and BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and Must have one of the following: • CCT - Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCI) • CET - Certified EKG Technician (NHA) • CET - Certified EKG Technician (NPS) • ECG - Certified ECG Technician (ACA) • NRCEKG - Nationally Registered Certified EKG Technician (NAHP) within 18 months
