Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, diagnose cardiovascular conditions including hypertension and heart failure, and provide emergency care for acute cardiac events. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac CT/MRI. Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and manage chronic diseases through long-term care and lifestyle guidance. Perform non-invasive and invasive procedures like cardiac catheterization while collaborating with surgeons and specialists. Maintain accurate medical records and prepare clinical reports in line with regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS Degree from a recognized institution
- Fellowship in Cardiology (National Postgraduate Medical College, West African College of Physicians, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years post-fellowship clinical experience
- Valid practice license from Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
- Strong clinical and diagnostic competency in cardiology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency cardiovascular cases
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and physical stamina for procedures
