Job Summary
Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, including patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning for a wide range of cardiac conditions. Interpret and analyze cardiac diagnostic studies such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and Holter monitors. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions including hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. Develop individualized treatment plans involving medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals for interventional cardiology or surgery. Order and interpret laboratory tests relevant to cardiovascular health and educate patients on disease prevention and risk factor modification. Collaborate with primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care while maintaining accurate documentation in electronic medical records. Stay current with advancements in cardiology through continuing medical education and professional society guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active New York State medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
- Proficiency in interpreting EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, and other cardiac diagnostic studies
- Skill in managing hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease
- Strong clinical judgment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
