Job Summary
The Cardiologist provides direct patient care in ambulatory healthcare settings, diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, conducting medical histories, physical exams, and creating care plans. Responsibilities include managing a patient panel of at least 5,000, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, providing education on heart disease, and leading a team that may include Care Promoters and Technicians. Candidates must have an MD or DO, board-certification in Cardiology, and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Exceptional communication, analytical skills, and familiarity with electronic medical records are required.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar specialty
- Board certification in Cardiology
- Current, unrestricted and active license to practice medicine in state of employment
- Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cardiologist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AMA) or American Red Cross required within first 90 days of employment
