Job Summary
Perform adult transthoracic, 2D-M mode Color flow doppler echocardiograms, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing, and stress echocardiograms. Assist with transoesphageal (TEE) echocardiograms and independently issue preliminary clinically-diagnostic findings. Set up electrocardiography equipment, attach electrodes, and connect leads while reducing patient anxiety through explanations. Monitor patients during procedures, report abnormal findings, and edit results for physician review. Maintain ECG, echocardiography, and stress equipment and supplies. Requires minimum 2-years experience in performing echocardiograms and ARDMS certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Completion of program related to sonography with emphasis on echocardiography or equivalent on-the-job training
- Minimum 2-years experience in performing Echocardiograms
- Credentialed with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Candidates that are Registered Cardiac Sonographers (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and have 5 years of experience performing Cardiac Sonography
