Job Summary
Conduct adult transthoracic, 2D-M mode Color flow doppler echocardiograms, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing, and stress echocardiograms. Assist with transoesphageal (TEE) echocardiograms and independently issue preliminary clinically-diagnostic findings. Prepare for examinations by reviewing physician orders, setting up recording equipment, and entering patient information. Monitor patients during procedures, report abnormal findings, and edit results for attending physician analysis. Maintain ECG, echocardiography, and stress equipment supplies. Reduce patient anxieties by explaining procedures and answering questions. Requires minimum 2-years experience in performing echocardiograms and ARDMS certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Completion of program related to sonography with emphasis on echocardiography or equivalent on-the-job training
- Minimum 2-years experience in performing Echocardiograms
- Credentialed with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Candidates that are Registered Cardiac Sonographers (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and have 5 years of experience performing Cardiac Sonography
