Job Summary
Perform adult transthoracic, 2D-M mode Color flow doppler echocardiograms, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing, and stress echocardiograms. Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms and independently issue preliminary clinically-diagnostic findings. Prepare for examinations by reviewing physician orders, setting up equipment, and entering patient information. Monitor patients during procedures, report abnormal findings, and edit results for physician analysis. Maintain ECG, echocardiography, and stress equipment supplies. Reduce patient anxiety by explaining procedures and answering questions. Requires minimum two years of echocardiogram experience, ARDMS RDCS or RDMS certification, and current BLS. Full-time day shift with bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Completion of program related to sonography with emphasis on echocardiography or equivalent on-the-job training
- Minimum 2-years experience in performing Echocardiograms
- Credentialed with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card
- Written and verbal communications

- Education and/or training related to areas of responsibility
- Principles of patient/family teaching
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
- Candidates with less than two (2) years of experience will be considered with AS Degree level completion and at least 6 months experience
- Candidates that are Registered Cardiac Sonographers (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and have 5 years of experience performing Cardiac Sonography will be considered in lieu of ARDMS Certification
