Job Summary
Lead clinical education and mentorship for the 4G Cardiology Unit by applying adult learning principles to plan and conduct sessions that promote staff development, student competence, and positive patient outcomes. Facilitate the development of unit preceptors, coordinate clinical orientation programs for new staff and students, and assist with annual competency checklists and educational needs assessments. Serve as a resource for physicians, nurses, patients, and families while modeling expert communication skills and therapeutic relationships. Identify needs for operational form revisions, ensure compliance with unit policies, and contribute to cost containment activities. Maintain a BSN, two years of recent nursing experience, and relevant cardiac specialty experience to manage complex care needs for patients with advanced heart failure and LVADs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of recent nursing experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Must complete UNE criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488
- If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
