Job Summary
Cardiac Sonographer position at UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, providing echocardiography services across locations and schedules. Responsibilities include advanced 2D/3D imaging with valve evaluation, Doppler and stress procedures, assisting physicians, serving as a preceptor, supporting quality assurance, and handling real-time and offline manipulation of echocardiographic images with appropriate documentation. Requires 2+ years of relevant experience, RDCS/RVT (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) credential, and BLS/ACLS certification; full-time and part-time shifts available.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound training program preferred
- Two (2) years of relevant experience required
- Currently credentialed as a RDCS or RVT by ARDMS OR currently credentialed as an RCS by CCI required
- Current BLS or ACLS by the AHA required
- All candidates must successfully complete ultrasound scanning of the heart, subject to approval by the Echo Quality Panel, as part of the interview process
