Job Summary
Cardiac Sonographer I performs an extensive range of cardiac ultrasound studies in clinical and research settings, including Transthoracic, Exercise, and Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms, and may involve procedures such as echo-guided myocardial biopsies and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy studies. The role collaborates with Staff Sonographers, Level II/III physicians, medical staff, and investigators to ensure exams follow established policies; includes clinical instructor responsibilities to JHH Ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows in the Echo Lab.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic program required
- Graduation from a CAAHEP - accredited Diagnostic ultrasound program required
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI is required
- Experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in a hospital-based environment or additional experience as a vascular technologist is desirable
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) preferred but not required
