Job Summary
Performs diagnostic echocardiograms, including TEE and stress echo, and advanced procedures as ordered by physicians; operates equipment used to perform echocardiograms; records quality information and follows procedural guidelines; explains procedures and potential side effects to patients and families; collaborates with physicians to ensure quality patient care; organizes reporting steps from study completion to final report; accepts charge and preceptor responsibilities; takes on-call duties, and works weekends and rotates holidays as needed; demonstrates leadership as a preceptor and clinical resource while contributing to policies and standards of care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program
- Completion of certification or registry in Echocardiography (RDCS)
- BLS required
- Meets all qualifications of Echocardiography Tech II ladder requirements
