Job Summary
Reviews patient history and physician orders, educates patients on procedures and equipment, and sets expectations for result receipt. Independently performs echocardiography procedures by selecting transducers, differentiating structures, and administering contrast media or medications when indicated. Monitors patient condition, reports status changes, and implements safety standards while performing quality control on equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, analyzes imaging results, and enters scan data into the system. Requires RDCS or RCS certification, BLS, and full-time weekend schedule with onsite location.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- Associate's degree in allied health
- Bachelor's degree in any area
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- BLS or CPR card in hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
