Job Summary
Perform echocardiogram procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics independently, reviewing patient history and physician orders while educating patients on procedures and equipment. Select appropriate transducers and imaging parameters, administer contrast media when indicated, and monitor patient conditions to report status changes. Implement safety standards, perform quality control on equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and enter, transmit, and report scan results. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- Associate's degree in allied health
- Bachelor's degree in any area
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- BLS through the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
- 1 year experience (preferred)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work onsite (no hybrid or remote option)
