Job Summary
Review patient history and physician orders, then educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Independently perform echocardiography procedures using appropriate transducers and imaging parameters while administering contrast media or medications as indicated. Monitor patient conditions continuously, report status changes, and implement safety standards with equipment quality control. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, analyze imaging results for quality issues, and enter scan data into the system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- Associate's degree in allied health
- Bachelor's degree in any area
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- BLS through the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- BLS or CPR card in hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
- Registered Sonographer
- Reg Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer
