Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and perform scheduling. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. Independently perform echocardiography procedures, select appropriate imaging parameters, and administer contrast media or medications within scope of practice. Monitor patient condition continuously, report status changes, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions while performing quality control. Analyze imaging results, identify quality issues, and enter or transmit scan reports.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program
- Associate's degree in allied health
- Bachelor's degree in any area
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- BLS or CPR card in hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
