Job Summary
Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic echocardiography Examinations including Transthoracic, Transesophageal, and Cardiac Stress testing to evaluate heart function; requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and procedures; administrative tasks include patient prep and documentation; on-call hours required; certification in echocardiography (RDCS/ARDMS or RCS/CCI) and BLS; associates degree preferred in cardiovascular ultrasound-related field; experience with EPIC and PACS preferred; located at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, VA; benefits and equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or related study (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
- Credentialed in echocardiography by one of: RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) (required)
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
- On-call hours required
- EPIC EHR experience (preferred)
- PACS experience (preferred)
