Job Summary
Conduct adult and paediatric cardiac ultrasound exams with independent functioning in a self-managed professional environment. Perform adult echocardiography while maintaining exemplary standards of patient care and communication. Utilize critical thinking and prioritization skills to work effectively with minimal supervision as part of a team. Cover days, evenings, and nights on a casual basis with flexibility for additional shifts, including weekends and holidays. Maintain registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Required Qualifications
- Registration with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Registration with the American Registration of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDCS) designation
- Member of CARDUP
- Current BCLS
- Minimum of 1 year full-time Hospital experience in all aspects of adult echocardiography
- Demonstrated excellent patient care skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to teach and evaluate students in their clinical placement
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
- Must be available to cover days, evenings, and nights on a casual basis with flexibility to work additional shifts as needed, including weekday, weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Paediatrics is an asset
- Experience with Contrast Echo, TEE and Stress Echo is preferred
