Job Summary
Cardiac Sonographer performs echocardiogram studies to obtain diagnostic information about patients' cardiac health, evaluates blood flow, valve function, and chamber size, and assists physicians in the cardiac catheterization lab and operating room. The role requires setting up and adjusting equipment, maintaining safety and quality control, performing routine and complex imaging studies, recognizing structures and artifacts, and supporting a range of imaging procedures. The position includes rotating weekend and on-call coverage (approximately one weekend per month and seven weeks of call per year), with primary assignment at South Pointe Hospital and potential travel to Euclid, Hillcrest, and Marymount Hospitals in the East Region. Duties also include collaboration with physicians, operating within established protocols, and ongoing professional development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology OR graduate of a cardiac ultrasound program OR two years of full-time echo experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- RDCS or RCS credential within one year of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of m-mode, 2D and doppler calculations and cardiac hemodynamics
