Job Summary
The Cardiac Sonographer will perform cardiac ultrasounds across adult, geriatric, pediatric, infant, and neonate populations (within competency) to acquire and analyze data using cardiac ultrasound modalities; assist cardiologists with transesophageal echocardiograms and non-invasive pharmacological or exercise stress testing; perform pediatric/neonate transthoracic, abdominal, and carotid ultrasounds; generate and communicate findings to guide patient care; prepare preliminary echo reports per ICAEL standards; conduct pre-procedure intake and coordinate with the care team; maintain and troubleshoot equipment; participate in quality improvement and certification processes; support department duties and contribute to overall cardiovascular services.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal ultrasound program or allied health program
- Minimum 1-year cardiovascular sonography experience
- Required Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification
- An appropriate credential in echocardiography from ARDMS, CCI or CARDUP (RDCS, RCCS, or equivalent) within 1 year of eligibility
- BLS certification within 60 days of hire
- Current CME credits as required by credentialing bodies
- Ability to perform pediatric echocardiograms with training in pediatric echocardiography program
