Job Summary
Perform diagnostic echocardiograms using established protocols, prepare patients by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort, and document procedures while confirming accurate patient data in the EMR. Sanitize transducers, exam beds, and cables daily, conduct weekly and monthly system backups, purges, and preventative maintenance, and coordinate repairs with service technicians. Log completed exams, record diagnostic codes, maintain organized patient records, retrieve studies for physician review, and assist in training new sonographers and clinical staff. Maintain required certifications, participate in continuing education, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize workflow and patient outcomes. Work Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting in Spokane Valley, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAAHEP- or CMA-approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound (or equivalent training per ICAEL standards)
- National Certification in echocardiography through ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- National Certification in echocardiography through CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
