Job Summary
Conduct general ultrasound exams and echocardiograms to support diagnosis and patient management, excluding obstetrics. Prepare exam rooms and equipment, apply ergonomic scanning techniques, and review images to synthesize preliminary findings for physician referral. Operate and maintain imaging support equipment while assisting with daily facility operations. Support on-call and stand-by rotations in patient care areas within a clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols. Requires current registration with the Bermuda Council for Allied Health Professions and echocardiography certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Echocardiography program
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent
- Echocardiography certification (e.g., RDCS or RCS)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current registration with the Bermuda Council For Allied Health Professions (CAHP)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general ultrasound (thyroid, breast, joints, soft tissues, pelvis, prostate, vascular) and echocardiography
- Familiarity with non-obstetric pelvic and vascular imaging techniques
- Level 3 RDMS or RDCS OR RVT OR RMSKS
- Certification in Vascular
- Certification in Breast
- Certification in Musculoskeletal
- Certification in Paediatric Echo
- Certification in Fetal Echo
- Certification in Paediatric Sonography
Desired Qualifications
- Specialty certifications in relevant areas (e.g., vascular, breast, musculoskeletal)
