Job Summary
Conduct fitness and athletic performance assessments to identify movement dysfunction and develop tailored treatment programs for rehabilitation, return-to-play, and injury prevention. Deliver exercise plans through one-on-one, small, and large group sessions while educating clients on technique and equipment safety. Oversee the "Return to Play" program for injured clients by coordinating progress updates with physical therapists and physicians. Document results, maintain clinical equipment, and ensure a clean environment adhering to health department codes. Provide mentorship and training to Exercise Therapists and Specialists. This PRN role at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, supports cardiopulmonary rehabilitation goals and requires BLS certification, a relevant bachelor's degree, and the ability to lift and ambulate patients.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field at an accredited institution
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is preferred
