Job Summary
Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine, PET scanning, cardiac stress lab functions, and radiopharmacy duties as required. Execute SPECT, SPECT CT, PET, and diagnostic CT imaging on a rotational basis, conducting computer acquisition, processing, and documentation. Administer radiopharmaceuticals, including positron emitters, while calculating exact patient dosages and maintaining records. Perform quality control on nuclear medicine instrumentation, conduct safety checks, and manage radioactive material disposal in compliance with Florida Department of Health regulations. Provide patient education and transport, participate in process improvement and ACR accreditation preparation, and ensure adherence to ALARA radiation safety protocols and corporate policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Maintains current certification as both a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) AND Positron Emission Tomography (PET) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Maintains current certification in both American Registry of Radiology Technologists in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT) (N); AND Positron Emission Tomography (PET) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Maintains current Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
- Must have knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, PET, and CT equipment, procedures, and radiation safety
