Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations of a specific shift on the Cardiac ICU unit. Supervise staff, facilitate communication with physicians and administrators, and lead efforts to strengthen organizational systems. Mentor Registered Nurses on charge functions, foster leadership development, and provide direction on policies, scheduling, and assignments. Evaluate resource use, coordinate unit staffing, and identify managerial problems for test of change. Act as an arbitrator in staff conflicts, counsel employees, and address escalated patient issues or customer complaints. Challenge systems to achieve best outcomes, implement innovative approaches, and provide educational programs based on evidence-based practice. Complete performance reviews, risk management reports, and unit management reports within specified time frames while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 1 year of recent post-graduation nursing experience
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire (if completing virtual care activities)
- MSN or DNP
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification (may be required for certain departments, post hire)
