Job Summary
Develop and guide individualized cardiac fitness plans for post-acute coronary heart disease patients while integrating clinical expertise as a teacher and consultant. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care that meets performance improvement goals and reviews diagnostic data such as serial ECGs, enzymes, and exercise test results. Obtain accurate nursing histories to complete admission forms and identify cardiovascular risk factors, manifestations of disease, and lifestyle modification needs. Participate in cardiac rehabilitation rounds and conferences to assess specific patient group needs and plan individualized rehabilitation protocols and discharge strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and training in cardiopulmonary from an accredited University
- Knowledge and experience in the following: Cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, Pathophysiology of coronary artery disease and patient education methods
- Proficient in basic arrhythmia recognition
- Completed a basic arrhythmia course
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart
Desired Qualifications
- One year's internship or work experience in cardiac rehabilitation
