Job Summary
Perform transthoracic and stress echocardiogram exams, assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiogram procedures, and document patient and test data. Manage time and workload fluctuations while assessing patients and adapting to changing clinical situations. Complete billing for tests performed, maintain departmental and hospital equipment, and uphold individual performance goals. Requires current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification and ARDMS or CCI registry registration within two years of hire. Schedule includes 4X10 or 4X9 shifts with one weekend shift monthly; no weekday call or overnight rotation. Required Qualifications
- Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level, in Cardiac Ultrasonography
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registry in accordance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines within 2 years of hire and maintained thereafter
- State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
- Experience in Cardiac Ultrasonography, minimum of 6 to 12 months
- Must be able to lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds regularly
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 - 25 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 - 50 pounds
- Must have color vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have far vision
- Must have near vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must be available for one weekend shift a month, 6 hours per weekend day
- Must be available for 4X10 shifts (6:30am-5pm) or 4X9 shifts (7:00am-4:30pm)
- Must be available for no weekday call
- Must be available for no overnight call
