Job Summary
Cardiac Device Specialist I provides interrogations and reprogramming of implanted cardiac devices in outpatient settings, triages remote-monitoring transmissions, and collaborates with provider teams. Utilizes electrophysiology and biomedical engineering knowledge to assess device function, sets up and troubleshoots CIED programmers, identifies malfunctions, and coordinates care with nursing and provider teams. Requires maintaining CEUs, staying current on clinical topics, and delivering respectful, collaborative patient care in a cardiovascular medicine setting. Full-time role at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS, with on-site responsibilities at outpatient clinics and outreach locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science related field
- Successful completion of a cardiac device rhythm management course or equivalent experience within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 Days
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 Days
- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to various outreach clinics
