Job Summary
Assist during invasive cardiac procedures by scrubbing in, setting up and operating procedural equipment, and delivering direct patient care at Arnett Hospital. Monitor patients undergoing procedures while operating respiratory and EKG equipment. Maintain knowledge of over 15 cardiac catheterization procedures and related instruments. Work rotating weekday call shifts, with one summer and one winter holiday coverage, and rotation every third weekend. Incumbent must be on 24-hour call for emergency procedures. Requires BLS and ACLS certification, plus experience in noninvasive cardiovascular service or related technical patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Post high school coursework in anatomy
- Post high school coursework in physiology
- Post high school coursework in medical terminology
- Professional degree or certification when commonly associated with the professional experience the candidate possesses
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA
- Health care experience which involves direct patient care
- Noninvasive cardiovascular service experience or directly related technical patient care experience
- Knowledge of various cardiac catheterization procedures (over 15)
- Knowledge of related equipment and instruments for cardiac catheterization
- Knowledge of scrubbing and circulating techniques
- Ability to monitor patients undergoing procedures
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment
- Knowledge of EKG equipment
- Basic knowledge of cardiac procedures
- Basic knowledge of emergency procedures
- Ability to be on 24 hour call for emergency procedures
