Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist provides direct patient care across the Cardiac Cath lab, Peripheral Vascular Lab, Cath Lab Holding Room, and Electrophysiology Lab as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization, monitoring during procedures, maintaining a safe environment with universal precautions and PPE, collaborating with physicians and technicians, providing patient education before/during/after procedures, and engaging in ongoing education and mentorship to advance clinical expertise. Requires completion of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology, or Paramedic; and relevant licensure/certification (BLS/ACLS, ARRT Radiology Technologist or NCRCB NBRC RRT, or Paramedic credentials) with RCIS to be completed within 3 months for Cardiovascular graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Cardiovascular Technology Program, or Paramedic program
- BLS/ACLS (CPR) certification
- ARRT Radiology Technologist registry OR North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) RRT license/credential OR Paramedic North Carolina EMT-P credentialing/accreditation
- RCIS certification within 3 months of employment for Cardiovascular Program graduates
