Job Summary
Prepares patients for cardiovascular procedures by reviewing medical history, positioning, and administering contrast media and medications within scope. Assists the Radiologist/PA with specialized imaging including angio, complex vascular, neuro interventional, and therapeutic procedures while interpreting and reporting test results. Maintains equipment, supplies, and lab areas; ensures compliance with radiation safety and regulatory standards; and monitors patient activity during interventions. Performs point of care testing as assigned and works in a constant state of alertness. Requires completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program, BLS, ALS, and ARRT certification. Variable shift schedule with no set weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program
- Must work at least 30% of FTE in secondary modality to be eligible for a Multiple Modality job

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
- Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent lifting/moving of patients
- Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
- Rare kneeling and sitting
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines
- Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards
- Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations
- Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity
- Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted
