Job Summary
Cardiac ICU RN role performing comprehensive nursing care for adult cardiac/neuro patients in a fast-paced 14-bed CCU. Provides assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of patient care; may serve as Charge Nurse and supervise non-RN personnel; collaborates with physicians and healthcare team to develop and adjust plans of care, ensure readiness for discharge, and coordinate education and referrals. Requires formal RN education and active CT license; experience with neuro assessment, airway management, ventilator care, endotracheal/tracheostomy suctioning, and post-operative cardiac surgery care (CABG/valve replacements) within a Cardiac ICU setting. Demonstrates accountability to CNO and adherence to unit policies, performance expectations, and patient-family engagement. Location: Norwalk, OH, US. Fully remote work is not indicated; in-person care on the unit is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut
- Ability to function as Charge Nurse and supervise unit activities
- Experience in neuro assessments and airway management
- Proficiency with ventilator care and suctioning procedures
- Knowledge of cardiac ICU patient care and post-operative CABG/valve surgery care
- Compliance with Nurse Practice Act and CNO guidelines
