Job Summary
Operate carbon block extrusion equipment according to established production procedures, including setting up, starting, monitoring, and shutting down machinery safely. Monitor extrusion processes to ensure product dimensions, density, and quality specifications are met while conducting routine quality checks and documenting production results. Identify process abnormalities, assist with clearing jams, and support changeovers between products and formulations. Maintain accurate records of production, downtime, and scrap; handle raw materials and finished products safely while adhering to all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE guidelines. Comply with housekeeping standards and 5S initiatives. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction. Cross-train in related manufacturing processes as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow work instructions and production schedules
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing production priorities
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to carbon dust, production machinery, and varying temperatures
- Rotating duties and overtime may be required based on production needs
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience operating industrial machinery or production equipment preferred
