Job Summary
Maintain Cree Nation Government buildings, housing units, grounds, and mechanical equipment through installation, repair, and routine upkeep. Inspect units, manage supply inventories, move furniture, and ensure annual vehicle maintenance with accurate logbook completion. Respond to emergency maintenance requests and work closely with the Operations and Maintenance Technician to address client requests. Complete weekly activity logs and maintain up-to-date knowledge of preventative procedures. Perform duties in both office and outdoor settings, including extreme weather conditions and uneven terrain, requiring agility and physical effort. Fluency in Cree and English is required; French is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Vocational training in Northern Building Maintenance
- One to three years of relevant work experience
- Fluency in verbal Cree
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to work in both an office and outside setting, including exposure to extreme weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and uneven terrain of construction sites
- Willingness to undertake work that may require high physical effort
- Must agree to undergo a background check
