Capital Project Engineering Co-op/Intern - Winter 2027

Job Summary
Execute capital projects from initial scoping and triage through detailed design and construction execution at Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine. Participate in procurement activities including bid preparation and vendor selection, while assisting with future project scoping and five-year planning efforts. Support the active project portfolio by helping engineers balance execution demands, manage project handovers, and conduct closeout activities. Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors across multiple disciplines including Capital Projects, Process Engineering, and Maintenance. Adhere to Mosaic's mission and safety guidelines while working in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
Required Qualifications
- Third-year or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineer, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Process Engineer
- 72% or higher Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
- Basic computer skills
- Experience working in a team environment is a must
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
- Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
- Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials
- Able to hear, with or without correction
- Able to read, write and understand basic English
- Able to see, with or without correction
- Able to use fine hand motor skills
- Able to wear a respirator
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
- Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
- Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
