Job Summary
The Capacity Procurement Representative is responsible for negotiating rates to meet load expectations, establishing a carrier base, and ensuring timely freight coverage. Responsibilities include utilizing the J.B. Hunt Carrier360 platform to market to carriers, monitoring freight in transit, communicating service failures, and managing customer service expectations. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to foster relationships, and experience in logistics or business administration.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- up to 1 year experience in transportation/logistics, business administration, or account management
- Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
- Strong professional communication skills
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Experience in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
